Case Study: Whole-Home Comfort for Young Family in Nottingham
Project Summary:
- Property type: Modern 4-bedroom new build
- System installed: Ducted air conditioning with two internal units in the loft
- Distribution: Discreet ceiling vents supplying each bedroom
- Control: Dual thermostats for zoned temperature management
- Client: Young family with two children under 3
- Duration: 3 days from arrival to completion.
The Challenge
This young family were finding it impossible to get a good night’s sleep during the summer months. Their new build home—well insulated but prone to trapping heat—just wouldn’t let go of the warmth, even late into the evening. With two toddlers aged 1 and 3, bedtime was becoming increasingly stressful. The children couldn’t settle in the heat, leading to broken sleep and challenging days for the whole household.
Our Solution
We installed a ducted air conditioning system featuring two near-silent internal units in the loft. The system was split via ducting to supply cool air into each of the four bedrooms through discreet ceiling vents. Two thermostats were fitted to allow separate temperature zones—giving the family precise control over comfort levels in each room.
The Outcome
The results were felt immediately. The children began settling quickly in their cool, comfortable bedrooms—and the parents finally got a decent night’s sleep too. The quiet operation of the system meant it could run all night without disturbance, transforming the way the family experienced summer in their home.
"We honestly didn't realise how much the heat was affecting all of us until the air con went in. The difference it's made to our nights - and our days - is huge."

A great solution for both heating & cooling.
One of the biggest misconceptions about AC units is that they are exclusively for keeping cool.
Most modern air conditioning systems are heat pumps which means they are capable of heating and cooling. Technically the air conditioning unit produces heat by reverse cycle.
This means that air conditioning systems can actually be a great solution for both keeping cool and warm.
